I went a different route, as I find the tv tuners fitted on most xars are not very good.

instead I download the programmes I want to watch onto an SSD drive and play that instead.

Also your aerial amplifiers parts are wrong, they are for fm/dab, you already have them, they are not for dvb, for radio and dvb tv you need three:

I already have my interior trim removed while fitting facelift rear lights, so I took a look, these are already in the bootlid of my car which doesn't have tv tuner

Hello for the TV the final letter has to be C, G, D

 

I have bought 8v0919191B by mistake , but i think i has lucky as the hardware is the same as C, so just a  firmware upgrade needed

You are correct the cover is  5G0972136  the other is for Canton amplifier, must have copy pasted the wrong part as they are next to each other , but the antennas i think  i´m correct.

The antennas can be 3v5035577B,3v5035577C,3v5035577D,3v5035577G

My skoda parts guy doesn't know a lot about it, but he told me he doesn't have version b on his system, but c says TV, and versions d and g say "FFB", and when he researched FFB, it means force feedback. I'm trying to understand do you need 1xc, 1xd and 1xg? Or 3x version d would work? Portuguese guy on the MIB2 telegram group sent me the diagram below, although it's based on the audi part numbers 4m0035225k, 4m0035225H, 4m0035225J, it looks like you need 3x different ones

 

So far I have bought 3v5 035 577 c and 4m0035225k. I don't think it matters so much if the parts are audi or vw or skoda, more important to understand the letters at the end for each. I'm starting to research and understand better

3v5035577D  seems to be the skoda equivalent of audi 4M0 035 225 K , so based on the russian experience, I'm going to go with "D" in socket "1" of the tv tuner. Socket 2 would then likewise need a 3v5035577B, socket 3, dunno...

If i remenber correctly i think i found a vcds map of a superb with tv , maybe that can help us.

This guy didn't really know what he was talking about, as he didn't understand how part numbers work, so I stopped taking his advice.

 

Also the aliexpress harness is not perfect. mine arrived. it has nothing designed to connect to the green double-fakra coax aerial connector on the tuner, it has 3x coax aerial cables all right, one too short to get to the back of the superb, another tied in along with the cables that go to the headunit  (maybe in the golf one of the aerials is near the head unit?), so it's definitely not perfect for the superb. I will probably still use it to get from the tuner to the headunit, and one of the coax fakra cables is probably good.

 

I started fitting the tuner unit today.

 

start by putting the drivers seat (right hand drive car) all the way back, and also as high as the seat will go.

I´m waiting for the cable , the Dokiauto seller said that the cable was going to be customized to the superb , i advertised him that the tuner was under the driver seat and it was not the same as the Golf.

LOL now you have confused because of the images you car is Left hand drive correct ? So it is the driver seat too  for LFD , but the harness must be a little different because i think the amplifiers are in the same spot for LHD and RHD.

Well now i am confused in my car LHD the tv tuner must be placed in the passenger seat as the braket is the same so it must be under the right seat. LHD or RHD the parts are the same. One thing i think I'm in luck its very near the mib unit, yours is on the other side, is you most cable long enough ?

So for you it's a bigger problem when you fit the amplifier 😂

 

You are correct, I need to buy another hour on erwin to understand how to remove trim parts around dashboard to get the cable across, maybe first I should test if the cable is long enough just sitting loose on top of dashboard... I didn't think about the lhd/RHD cable length difference

Do you meen the canton amplifier or the amplifiers for the antennas  ?

 

Do you have VC ?  If so maybe you can tap the most  there.

I meant audi amplifier, if you ever fit that, the cables will be harder for you but easier for me 😂

I will be doing VC but will take me some time before that, to buy mib2.5 etc. First. Anyway its not just most, you still need to bring another wire to the radio unit.

I have almost all the parts , i'm only missing the antena amplifiers.

One word of caution to all those wanting this function. We have a March 2016 model and whilst the TV is really great to have, the picture quality is, to be frank, utterly abysmal; it’s SD and a very poor SD at that, so please bear that in mind before you spend more time and effort to retro fit this. It also doesn’t help that there are practically no picture adjustments either. That said, it was great to have DVD (remember those?!)  function whilst waiting for a ferry at Holyhead which had been delayed for 6 hours - wizzed though half of S3 of The West Wing!
