Cheap accessories arrived

Featured Replies

I added a battery cover and brighter boot lights courtesy of https://www.aliexpress.com/

and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I had low expectations. 😉

My “reward “ was a trip to the tip. 🤔

Plenty of Aliexpress plastic tat adourning my Kodiaq under the bonnet too!

Are the lights for the boot really brighter - I have 1 Superskoda Bright one from my Yeti - which is bright - but about  a week ago ordered 2 LED from Ali

Which ones did you order - link?

These if I recall.

They are very noticeably brighter than the original ones.

Do anyone know what the part number of the battery cover is at Skoda?

I thought the only battery cover available from VAG was a fabric one, the same material used around the battery sides. 🤔

As I said, the Aliexpress plastic battery cover is decent quality.

Yep, they weren't on Amazon when I ordered mine, so had to get one put on the slow boat from China.

They're still going on the slow boat just with the added protection of Amazon, mine took about 3 weeks

For my incoming Kodiaq I've ordered the brighter boot lights posted above. I'll be ordering the mud flaps from super skoda and a boot liner.

Do new Kodiaqs come delivered with floor mats in the foot wells or will I need to buy some?

Only the higher end models come with carpet mats from the factory...

I got both textile and rubber floor mats with my Sportline.

Looks like it comes standard with the Sportline according to the post above yours. Guess I'll need to get some mats on order too!

Not sure whether to go with genuine items at £60+ or just cheapo ones. Saw on ebay there was one listing for 'standard' mats and a set of 'prestige' mats, anyone know the difference?

But the rubber ones is not included and I got them for free without asking.

When it comes to mats, always go with genuine. That is my experience with different car brands.

I agree - buy the genuine.. much better fit and quality..

Rubber ones for winter and carpet for the summer..

How do you order from superskoda? it doesn't have a payment option at the checkout.

Just follow the instructions on the website..

Have purchased 3rd-party rubber mats from various retailers - only problem with one set (4 years ago) was the smell! Really, really pungent, took forever to wear off despite washing, leaving them out in the sun, Febreeze, etc. Contacted the retailer, they admitted that "yes, the mats do smell a bit" (a bit???) "but the smell will fade." It did fade. Eventually.

Hence I've ordered Skoda mats as part of a 'protection package', so hoping they will be relatively odour-free.

FWIW I recently got some Skoda rubber mats via SuperSkoda, a little smell when they were fresh out of the packaging (more like talc than chemicals) but that's worn off now and no issues at all.

Excellent, thanks penguin17, that's reassuring
