Karoq - any "must have" options?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Would appreciate any view on the below.

Currently looking at purchasing a Karoq 1.5 DSG SE L.

Had a quick nose around at our local dealership and my wife likes the look of the beastie.

Question: In terms of spec, the only options I have on the table for consideration are;

Metallic paint.

Adaptive Cruise Control (have it on my current Passat and I think it works well with the DSG box)

Virtual cockpit (purely on "boys and their toys" grounds)

Are there any other options which merit consideration?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Don't forget the £150 spare wheel kit because the get you nowhere foam alternative might as well be toothpaste for what good it is when a puncture strikes.

The stock SE L we looked at had a full size spare and so I assumed that it came as standard.

That is a good catch; thank you. Will add a spare to the spec.😉

Our 2 year old Karoq only had metallic Moon White as the only option, but wish it had the spare wheel not the can of foam, touch wood no punctures in the 22,800 miles driven so far.:nerd:

Heated windscreen, and if occasionally transporting kids, the children back that gives you remote operation of the child locks.

Above should say Family pack instead of children back, unable to edit.

Just to update the thread to advise that I today I have placed an order for a 1.5 SE L DSG in "Race Blue" with virtual cockpit, adaptive cruise control, and a space saver spare wheel.

A heated screen would have required a factory order for April(ish) delivery, but going without (and taking the blue rather than business grey, which was my initial choice) means that I can have a unit currently "at the docks" in the UK.

Also taken the fixed price service offer at £159.

Expected delivery date is 14th Feb.

Thanks to those for their input above.

Had a look around a Karoq today and I must say, its a very practical and nice looking little car. Going for a test drive on Saturday and go from there.

Did you get a good deal at all from your dealership or any extras?

I put in the required spec in to carwow, which provided 5 quotes, none of which was from my local dealer. I then gave the lowest priced offer to my local dealer and asked them to match it, which they did.

Didn't ask for any extras or further deal sweeteners; the SE L comes with floor mats and the service plan at £159 is a formal Skoda offer.

We purchased a new Citigo from our local dealer last June and so the relationship was already there; the salesman knew that we weren't tyre kicking and so it was all very straightforward.

Thanks, I may give that a go. The dealer at my local seems to have quite a lot of stock waiting to be registered in the SE L and edition versions.  The SE L as it is pretty much suits all my needs though I believe, the pan roof is something I'm growing fond of though!

I hope the Pano Roofs on Karoq's don't leak like they do on Yeti's and Superb Estates. Worth bearing in mind.:rain:

Good point, think I'll leave it in that case...

I've just taken delivery of a New Karoq 1.5 TSi SEL in Race Blue and it comes with more kit than I thought.

It's a very pleasant place to be in.

Traded in a Mazda CX 3 Sport-nav and the Skoda is a much better ride, it's roomier which I wanted and it feels solid.

The car surprised me, when I put it in reverse, it turned the radio down, & this is not the only thing I was surprised about.

Auto wipers on the back window, I didn't know it did that.

The only thing I'm struggling with, is the locking, walking away from the Mazda it locked itself, I keep having to walk back to the Skoda and touch the button on the handle.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've recently ordered a 1.5 SE L DSG. OH insisted on heated windscreen (we used to have a Ford), powered boot lid, tow bar (bike carrying duties) family pack and spare wheel.

Was tempted by virtual Cockpit ...

Now awaiting delivery.
