Oil change/inspection now warning on MKIII Octavia Scout

Featured Replies

Hi all

I’ve booked the Scout in for its annual MOT and service on Monday.

The service reminder has been coming up for the last few weeks but just now my wife got a ping and a message “Oil change/inspection now!”.

Is there a problem with the oil or just another reminder?

The car started and she’s taken our dog for a walk but is it serious?

Cheers,

John

Just the service warning indicator timer has run down to zero miles/days, that is all, don't worry as you have booked it in!

Many thanks for that. It’s just that the “ping” is a new thing and a bit disconcerting!
Cheers,

John

It’s just reminder, I have looked that warning message past month and 1000km.. Next week that warning will be ”fixed” and car serviced :D

Thank you for your help! 😀

Yes, the VAG software gets a bit shouty if you have ignored and not booked in your vehicle.

MOT’d and serviced yesterday so no pings this morning! 👍

Mine was on the countdown day timer for an Oil Service which it would make sure it reminded you of on the maxidot when with ignition on and then off but actually ended up being serviced last week before it got down to zero days. So it didn't get to start pinging as overdue but again as stated it would just mean its ready for a service. Given they make such a big song and dance about washer fluid being empty.. the over the top shouty nature of their warning systems is the norm.
