Professional reviewers, driving many EV's.

When will the reviewers understand that for this car that Sport is when you are getting what is equal to 136ps and it is not sharpening up anything,

and in Normal you are getting equal to 110ps, in Eco even less, more like 84ps.

You have to use less to get more miles and then also be using B to really re-cooperate and get power back into the battery.

Tested in conditions in Spain that might be similar to the UK on a lovely day.

He has a bit more knowledge having done his homework.

Better if actually quoting 50 Kw Rapid chargers that are more common than 100 Kw.

Then as far as speeds and ranges, they have been getting changed from the time of Media Packs to cars being delivered.

Pan roof gone, no leather interior, and just bits and pieces like that change.

Drop outside temperature down to 0c (eg. Christmas travel to family) you'll get even less range.

This is the problem with EV's. They need to be ultra efficient at 70mph, this is the place where their range actually matters. Unlike ICE cars, their range isn't a problem driving locally day-to-day. So there's really no point benchmarking EV range or consumption at anything below 50mph.

This is why NEDC is totally useless as range metric for EV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:New_European_Driving_Cycle.svg

WLTP isn't much better: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Class_3b.svg

I value 1000 km or 600 miles time more than WLTP/NEDC quoted range. https://youtu.be/roNsuXnMiwc?t=1801

Ionic constantly surprises on its efficiency which offsets its smaller battery !

Again Matt says a company gave a 0-60 mph figure when they actually gave a 0-62mph / 100kph figure then he goes showing a 0-60 time.

But he has done the same for years now.

(PSA did give a 0-60mph for the e-208 & e-Corsa originally and that was 7.6 seconds, but that was knocked on the head. Amazing how slow the extra 2 mph can be to get to...)

Software and hardware changes to increase range the cars can travel.

Lots more than this required i suspect as the WLTP figures are currently fiction for real world distances if people and stuff in vehicles in seasons like Autumn or Winter in the UK..

Which tyres are going to be used and give the extra range ???

Good to see some incremental changes in motors, heat pumps.

As the temperature falls I am checking the tyre pressures as the will fall roughly 1 PSI per 10C of temperature drop and keeping those backs at 40PSI I think will help a bit with the range. I have bought the optional false boot floor for the Zoe to ride the cables I carry so added a few Kgs as a negative measure but it looks better and easier to get the shopping out as not such a deep hole to pull the shopping on the boot floor up from.

Much like the Corsa-e, I feel like the "E" is often forced in the names for these cars. We could've had the 'eCorsa' or the '2E8' which, to me, flows better out of the mouth. :)

Very strange driving in B all the time other than in a village or town IMO.

So there are no RWD MINI Electrics. that will be the BMW i3 with the same motor / batteries.

The lowest spec e-208 had the narrower 16" tyres and does a bit better efficiency and feels less crashy.

Looking forward to see if 48.1 usable kW is going to give that much extra range over the 45 usable kW battery & more power.

Lots of figures need taken with large pinches of salt.

The 3.3 second 0-62 mph graphic will be a typo.

(The original cars were given a 3.1 second 0-30 mph time.)

Like the sister car was / is.

Nice Spring upgrade... If they are up to the job. They should be.

Real world. All good charging with 100 (100+) Kw chargers but not much speed for very long.
