Passanger door not registering / central lock stuck on "closed"

Featured Replies

I've got a Otcy II with an issue on the passenger side door, which does not register when opened, neither in the MaxiDot, lights or anything. The power lock and everything works fine with lock and unlock, it just doesn't register.

The dealer said, that "the cental lock sensor is stuck on closed, so the car doesn't now when the door is opened", and that it'll cost £200 to fix, but I'm thinking that it should be possible to replace the sensor or whatever is faulty? I just spend £2000 to replace the timing chain, after a tensioner broke off, so I've paid them enough for now 😣

Have anyone experienced anything similar, or now how to check which part to replace? Thanks!

VAG/Skoda only replace the whole door lock, the reality is that it's just a microswitch in the door lock that needs adjusting.

@PetrolDave Great, thanks! Exactly what I was hoping / expecting. Do you happen to know the part-name / term, I can search for to find some more info on how to replace it?

@PetrolDave

Okay, thanks for the pointer!

@davidbird

Sounds exactly like my issue. I'll try to look into it in the next couple of days, and update this thread with what I learn.
