Would that be a conventional torque converter gearbox, designed and manufactured by ZF?

They're the future. Oh hang on, they're actually the past too!

I was going to say the DSG in my Skoda reminds me of the old torque converter Chrysler Torqueflite in my Jensen Interceptor....

  • Emissions related?   Way back around 2003 ish I drove a small Peugeot diesel hatchback, the throttle pedal had a sort of nydraulic damper to prevent you from opening the throttle too quickly

  • Personally I find the 7 speed DSG (DQ381) in my Kodiaq TDI 150 to be very responsive on take-off. In this regard it's appreciably better than the 6-speed DSG in my last car (a VW Sharan TDI 140) and i

Yes fellas it was Autocar.

My weekend smoker is a Boxster S so we're all comparing apples to oranges...

I like the look of the RaceChip device though 👍. I still wonder if it is a turbo spooling - up issue then surely it's gas flow related, not fuel map related? It is purely intentional to meet new fuel regulations - sleepy acceleration produces less emissions.

And it is just sofware based - you can change the behaviour of throttle pedal with diagnostics tool.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had DTUK box on my Superb and I was very happy with it.
