MPG From TDi 110

Featured Replies

I Have got an Octy Hatch, L & K TDi110.

Yesterday I drove down to Skegness for the Day, Using all the usual Gadgets in my car e.g. Heated seats, Radio, Sat Nav and Air con.

On the way down there I got 58.2 MPG, which I was realy amazed at, as I do not have the lightest foot. On the way Back same Gadgets again, I got 64.2. When I saw this i nearly died, i didn't know it was possible.

My question is, if i didn't use all the gadgets, less drain on the battery and alternater etc, and the air con using fuel, what could i have got???

Whats the Best you've got out of your TDi110???

Cheers, Chris

At one point I was showing about 68 mpg after 60 miles of steady 50mph driving on a busy motorway but that dropped off to about 61 when I got off the motorway and into the town where I was going.

On my 27 mile journey home from work I manage over 60mpg on a regular basis.

Those are indicated figures though and my calculator reckons the trip computer is about 2-3 mpg optimistic which is the same sort of percentage error as on the speedo

I agree with the trip computer being slightly optinistic. As for mpg I get about 52mpg sitting at 75 on the GPS (about 80 on the speedo) but I have a heavy right foot and my dad always manages to get more out of it than me.

Most of the roads I were driving on were just A roads, and there were quite a few round abouts and lights etc, so it was stopping and starting on alot of the roads, so i'm impressed.

I can normally get about 50mpg, but this is around town, and country roads, so this is the first long drive I have had in it.

To say it was about 3 hours there and 3 hours back, i felt comfatable all the way, and never got bored. Buying the L and K, so having the feeling of heated leather under my bum is the best thing I have ever done.

By the way, I had 2 adults and 1 child in the car, plus the boot was full of luggage, e.g Big travel system Pram, and loads of toys, etc, so it wasn't that light.

I was following my Brother in Law, on the journey and at the end he only had 1/4 of a 60 litre tank left, I had 1/2 of 47 litre tank, so thats good. but he does have one of these silly Vauxhall Vectra diesels.

Should have got a SKODA!!!

Chris

I have shown 74 a few times while crusing home through the forest at 50mph to avoid the motorway tourist traffic.

Usual on my 110Tdi Elegance is between 56 and 68 for a m/way run depending on how i drive it and traffic etc.

I found this dropped masively around the 40k mark, but this was due to the air filter needing a change even though it claims to be good for 40k i'd change it every 20k from now on. Save the money on fuel in no time.

When we went to Normandy last year we went out on a few daytrips and a couple of times I was averaging just under 70mpg over about 50 miles on the excellent French A roads!

Can usually get low to mid 50s travelling locally.

The parents average around 54 I think... 58 if they're doing longer runs with motorway use.. and a max of about 70 has been had in optimum conditions IIRC
