Cruise control switch error

Featured Replies

Hello forum!

Today I took my fabia for a trip and on the motorway I switched on the cruise control. Unfortunately, it was dead. I used the vcds to check if any codes were dropped and it showed this:

17977

P1569

Cruise Control Switch (E45): implausible signal.

I checked the measure block 066 and any movement on the switches changes the binaries. When the vehicle is moving, the first speed window shows the speed but the second speed window shows always 0. I don't know if this is a problem. The cc is retrofitted 3 years ago without any problems before!

Any idea?

The problem was at the flexi ribbon cable. It was cracked and one trace was broken. But it was enough to throw an error code. The whole assembly is wrong. At the circled point the ribbon is forced to move a lot and this leads to a cut. I soldered it but I'm sure it will fail again. It should have been made with ordinary cables at that point and so will be when it fails again.
