Faulty fuel pressure sensor

Featured Replies

Whilst out on Tuesday night, whilst in stop/start, when car restarted it suddenly lost power showing “error stop/error” with the glow plug light flashing amber. It felt like the turbo had failed.

The car was fortunately booked in the following day, for a service and brake fluid change. The car has done 37500 miles with services when needed and has been faultless up to now. The diagnosis is a faulty fuel pressure sensor and the error was cleared with a software reset during a recall. A new part is on order for Monday. The dealer couldn’t guarantee the fault would return.

I feel a bit disappointed that this has happened, but I guess these things happen? Has anyone else had this failure? In the meantime, we are using my partner’s 2010 Toyota Yaris on a trip away that is proving a joy to drive!

Like every part on the car, nothing is guaranteed to last.

That is very true. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar?
