Hello from a new Skoda owner.

Just received my Superb, residing in the Aberdeenshire area, need a little assistance with retrieving a debit card from the front console.

Ooopsy!

Hello and welcome Donald.

Whereabouts did the errant card make its escape to?

Hi Gaz,

I believe it has managed to slip over the door below the AC controls. I think it get pushed over while I was fumbling with the door in the dark. I've scanned YouTube to try and find a 'how to' on removing the unit, but only found the lifting cover of the Octavia. The Superb has a push/slow return mechanism.

I was thinking about popping into Skoda Aberdeen to ask advice some time this weekend.

I've tried using a plastering knife with double sided sticky tape on - try to just get the card to make an appearance, but to no avail! I would consider leaving it, but the door doesn't latch now, so I need to act on it.

I'm afraid it's a strip down job, but I don't want to bugger up a perfectly good (rattle-free) dash.

Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers

Donald

This is the same procedure of how the two very different units are removed in the Octavia and Yeti so if I were a betting man I would say your Superb will be the same.

Lift up the gear lever gaiter plastic surround with your hands, the plastic clips will release, at the front you will see 2 black torx head  screws remove them and your storage unit/ashtray/whateveryouhave can be withdrawn.

Did it work Donald ?

Hi Guys,

Sorry about the delay, I've been dealing with the home quarantine of a 4 year old, empty supermarket shelves and a set of bosses who feel the need to "check-up" 4 times a day!!

Thank you for your reply J.R., I will have an attempt at the removal on Sunday morning and post the results back here if I get success.

I have to get back to a blend of Paw Patrol, tissues and Process Control software!!

Regards

Donald
