Probably ecm failure (vrs tdi)

Featured Replies

Thought i would share my problems with my 2016 Vrs tdi. The car is driven 140tkm. Completely stock engine.

About a month ago the car felt a bit odd, the idling was a bit rough,  no matter if cold or warm, just felt a bit wierd, the idling sounded also a bit wierd. So as i work at a Skoda dealership on the bodyrepair side it was easy to give it to the service side for a check. The car gave faults for cylinder 2 injector. They measured it and was confirmed that it was faulty. Cant remember what the faultcodes were back then. (can search them if anyone is interested). Well yesterday, 2000km later when i was leaving my workplace the car stuttered when starting, got 20 meters and it shutted itself off, leaving the glowplug signal blinking. Started the car again and the idle was very rough, felt like it was running on 3 cylinders. Took my bosch tester and searched for faultcodes. It gave P0202 Injector cyl.2 Circuit Malfunction...

They took a quick look at it today at the workshop and it is starting to look like the ecm/ecu is faulty. Will know more tomorrow when we can contact the Skoda importer with the scans that they ran through the car.

Will keep this updated until its fixed and write more deeply when i have the documents infront of me. (adding a pic of the car just for fun)

No idea about your problem but I'd just like to say that I'm impressed with the wrap.

So the problem was finally solved, the engine harness had chewed through a couple of wires at the intake manifold, (the thick wiring that goes down by the right side of the manifold).

Through vibrations, or a rogue rodent!?

Through vibrations, no signs of rodents, thought on it also, but you could clearly see that the harness had rubbed itself on the inlet manifold. The harness has probably moved with heat by time closer to the inlet. (took a pic of the inlet manifold from the internet and marked the area the harness had rubbed on)
