Hii

How to replace the freezing plug in the monifold body.

what should i pay attention to,

and how should I assemble.

(The stopper marked red is rotten and leaking water)

I was not very pleased to do it in an amateur way, but if the water does not leak, no problem :)

Hi

I have a question?

when the vehicle is under load,

88 thermostat works at 100 degrees in the first move

is this normal ?

for example like this

What temperature was outside? What load was on the car?

weather 15 degrees,

as a burden, a person ,

I didn't mean a load.

I mean when driving on a ramp or sloping road.

my fault :)

Everything looks perfect.

hi..

I want advice from you.

I use a 10c intermittent fan switch,

But it works non-stop, (at idle time)

the weather is average 30 degrees,

thermostat 88 degrees and fan sensor 82-72.

should I replace them with 88c and 95-90 fan switches or 80c and 85-80 fan swictch?

which one makes more sense.

Another question, what is the meaning of the small yellow piece that appears on the thermostat?

When mounting the thermostat, that piece should be up. The air trapped in the upper side can escape through that "hole".

Assuming the mixture is not lean the car should not heat up more. But given my lpg expirience I would say the mixture tends to be on the leaner side.

So I have completely removed the thermostat and run an 80-85 thermo switch.

Generally you want the radiator themo switch to be 10 degrees cooler than the thermostat. In your case a 88c thermostat would be perfectly suited to an 80 degree thermo switch.

Also clean the cooling system and check for rad corrosion.

Hi,

Could you explain on how you did it ?

In my experience (Favorit '93) there is a "delay" between the thermostat and Fan. On my car the gauge show a little higher and goes up then the fan work. But between the gauge showing HIGH tmeparaature and fan working there is a delay of 3 to 5 minute. I suppose it is normal because the thermostat need to "build up heat" in order to open right ?

Anyone experience about this ?

That delay is caused by switch being on output of radiator, which is coldest place in circuit. Even when thermostat fully opens, coolant has to go through whole radiator before it reaches switch, which takes some time on idle RPM.

I replaced switch on my Felicia with Estelle one, rated for 80°. Fan kicks in within a minute after stopping, by then, engine usually already has 95°.

Could you give details about switch you are using?

juts use a general part made by vernet or mahle

It's switch from Metra Šumperk (OEM supplier), type TH 470.1, with on temperature 85+-3°C, off temperature >77°C. I'm not sure, if they're still available, but as Thefeliciahacker said, you can find switches with similar parameters from other manufacturers.

Yes I use an 80c one from vernet also going by the name Calorstat

hello, how can I clean the inside of the cooling system from rust in the easiest way?

Some people talk about flooding the supplemental tank and letting the tank return hose out.
Is it a correct technique?

The rust in the coolant is the result of the corrosion of the steel or cast iron parts of the system. Block, liners, intake manifold, pump impeller. Normally the rust must be cleaned mechanically or chemically. The best results I've got so far on EXTERNAL rusty parts is using a rust inhibitor that will neutralize the rust. Not sure what will happen if, let's say, we'd fill the cooling system with such solution. There are some available commercially solutions like Thermocure.

Just flush it really well maybe use some vinegar or better yet something absolutely safe like evapo rust

ThermoCure is made by Evapo-Rust.
