Miss coded rear lights

Featured Replies

Hi, i recently coded my lights on when i unlock the car but it hasn't gone too well. For some reason i now have a rear o/s tail light stuck on. Its off on unlock but always on from turning the ignition. Does any one have any idea where ive gone wrong? I just want to put the rear lights back to standard config.

Thanks

What software did you use to make the change and do you have a list of the module(s), bytes and bits that you changed? If you used VCDS then posting an auto scan here may give more knowledgeable people than me an idea of what has gone wrong.

I used vcds vag com. Ive been back through all the things in the mod list and reset them back to original but i think ive accidentally changed another setting by accident. Does anyone know if ther's a log stored on the ecu of changes?

I understand that there is a log stored within the VCDS software. What version of VCDS did you use and what year is your car?

Again posting a full autoscan from VCDS and a detailed list of the values that you have changed would help.

Have you been into the long coding in byte 18? Changing this code is a massive no-no.

You should always run and save an autoscan before making any changes, this makes it easier to revert back to the original settings.

However, even an autoscan won't help if you've changed byte 18.

Don't think that applies to a MK3 Octavia, it'll probably be some adaption channels that are messed up...

Sounds like it’s coded to be a day time running light. But that’s a guess and not an actual diagnosis.

I didnt change any long coding. Only did the leuch options in the list.

Also i didnt know there was a way to save a config prior to coding. A way that might work, does anyone have the same model of car in this conv? If someone could export their list of leuch coding for rear lightd i might be able to sit and compare.

You should post a full autoscan and the adaption map for your BCM (address 09). You should also post your coding.log as that'll show exactly what changes you've made.

It's likley there are two similarly named channels and you changed the wrong one...

Since barnowl005095 changed the leuchte options I think we'll need to see the AdpLog.csv file as well as the CodingLog.csv file.

Yup, good shout, I'd forgotten it was in a separate file ;)
