I am trying to find the emergency fuel cap release but having no luck. Does anyone know where it is?

The central locking has stopped working so I am currently opening the car using the key, and the boot using the manual opening from Inside the boot.

somehow I need to find the emergency fuel cap release before I need to fill up again. The central locking stopped working 2 days ago (yes I changed the battery in the key fob and tried resetting it). I can get by using the key to open the doors and even deal with opening the boot from inside but I am going to need to fill up at some stage.

not keen on paying a small fortune to fix the Central locking system in the middle of Covid19 economic crisis when if I can find a workaround..

otherwise if anyone know how to get the Cap released another way let me know..

There isnt one, if you remove enough of the fastenings on the inner boot panel you can spring it away sufficiently to squeeze a hand in and grope around, you will find the solenoid and a round metal push pull rod which with some manipulation can be disconnected leaving the fuel flap to open and close on the push latch but not lock with the central locking.

 

I wanted to be able to open and close the flap when parked & locked to hide my keys while out running so did the above, the whole panel would come off but I could not find all the fixings and it involver removing other trim pieces.
