Netflix on Colombus Carplay

Featured Replies

simplest way to watch Netflix via iPhone tether from a warm Kodiaq cabin, please ?

You cannot watch Netflix even with a jailbroken iPhone because of DRM.

So why do they have the Netflix app in the App Store?

I meant via CarPlay. It'll be much easier to get a cheap Android phone and mirror it.

It’s not the easiest thing to get a Mirror compatible phone but just think of the hassle in connecting to the OP’s iPhone hotspot to do it!

I've never had any issues with iPhones and hotspots. I'm pretty sure any later late-ish model Samsung (e.g. S7/S8) are able to do it.

I'm pretty sure it's cheaper and easier to do that than find an iOS device that's still on iOS 10, which is the last version before Apple implemented DRM.

I was referring to the hassle of having to have two phones but with only one needing to be online.

FYI even the Pixel phones don’t Mirror but then again I don’t suppose they can be classed in the cheap category either.

You cannot mirror the whole content to headunit. But with Android phone you can install Full Mirrorlink:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lwi.android.flappsauto

and then open Netflix in web browser and mirror the whole thing to headunit. App allows the browser player window to fit the whole headunit scren.

Be careful - works even when driving!

Full Mirrorlink is not one - touch - to  - work app, it needs a bit fiddling. But once you`ll get used to it, it works fine and it`s your only option to mirror not official content.

Or you could just use pretty much any cheap tablet and sit in the passenger or back seat watching it. Easier, safer, no hacking required, and you can take it and watch it places other than the car.

Seen some people tweaking it with jailbreaks but not for me. I have 3 hours of commute every week day...obviously not these days but i mostly to listen podcasts on Youtube. But with the ios update it all gone desperately waiting for iOS 13 CarPlay support for Netflix streaming just as for my smart tv 🤔

If you just listen the podcasts isn`t the easiest way to use bluetooth audio option?

CarBridge hasn’t worked with Netflix since iOS 10...
