Retrofitting Park Assist & Trailer Assist

Featured Replies

I have a November 17 Octavia SEL with factory fitted front and rear parking sensors, factory fitted tow-bar and factory fitted rear view camera. Can Park Assist & Trailer Assist be retro fitted?

Yes, the usual acronym for this is PLA 3.0. It’s very possible to do but the major piece of hardware that turns this from reasonably straightforward with 4 extra sensors, a park assist module and some coding to do to not worth bothering with is the ABS pump. You will have to do a scan and check the part number but as a general rule if you have ACC you should be good to go. If you post your ABS controller model number or better yet a full scan of the module that will help in determining the feasibility.

Thank you  SashaGrace - I'm currently awaiting a new Hex-V2. Will scan the controller as soon as it arrives.

I have also upgraded/installed PLA to mine.

Love 360 parking sensors it is in daily use, self parking i did not use not even once.

Hello everyone,

I am having Octavia III FL, 4 sensors on the back and just received the other 8 and got the module for PLA as well (wiring etc).

I just wanted to know if I need to remove the ABS sensors from the rear wheels as a friend of mine told me if mine are the black ones, I need to put the grey ones. If you want and tell me - I can share a VCDS scan (of ABS maybe?).

My car is having also the emergancy brake when driving in reverse.

Thank you in advance!
