washer fluid in rear passenger footwell

Featured Replies

I am trying to locate the locations of the joins in the rear washer pipe on a 2005 Octavia estate, as no fluid comes out of the rear nozzle and the rear footwell gets wet, I think I have located the pipe, however have not been able to find the joint that has come apart yet.  Any pointers on where this will be located?

Thank you in advance,

I don't know about the estate, but on a hatchback it's behind the passenger side boot trim.

Is this the only joint inside the car? I've been having similar issues. I found that joint and fixed it but it still takes a while from activating the pump to water coming out of the rear wiper outlet. Is there any sort of non return valve in the line or can the water siphon itself back into the tank?

The pipe runs from the washer bottle over the top of the nearside doors above the headlining close to the grab handles.

There are numerous joints along the way, but if it's the rear passenger footwell that is getting wet then it is probably running down the back of the B-pillar.

That's handy to know, thanks. You'd think running the pipe at high level (especially with crappy joints!) was utter lunacy! Does anyone know where I can find or have a copy of a drawing that has the position of all of the joints? I've looked but can't find anything online. I know to look for Mk5 golf stuff for the mechanical side, do they run stuff through the interior in the same locations?

Reconnected the pipe as it had come apart in the boot, sorted 🙂
