Felicia 1.3 fuel dripping... Need help

Featured Replies

I have a 1997 Felicia 1.3 and discovered that fuel/gas is dripping out when the car is running. The dripping is coming from one of the 5 thin lines that are held/mounted on the underside of the gas tank on drivers side near the rear tire. I assume 2 of these 5 pipes/tubes are fuel lines running between the engine and gas tank. I think the leak is right under the bracket thing that's holding up the lines.

Are these gas lines made of rubber and is this a job I can do myself if I need to replace the faulty line? Novice here.

First of all, it would help filling your car engine details in your profile. See my profile below my avatar? Just looking at it you see the manufacture year and engine type.

Second, a photo is always valuable. Take a photo of the area where there is a leak.

Normally there are (fuel resistant rubber) hoses between the fuel pump (located inside fuel tank) and the fuel lines running under the car. The hoses are fixed with clamps to the fuel lines. It is an easy job if you get easy access to the clamps. If your Felicia is a petrol engine car, that would be a great time to replace the fuel filter too.

Thanks for the reply Ricardo. I will take a photo tomorrow when the light is better. Yes, my car runs on unleaded gasoline. I will also look into including more details regarding my car on my profile.

yes it happened on mine make sure to replace both the feed and return as well as the filter
use good quality rubber with new clamps and reputable filter (valeo, meat&doria, bosch, etc)
you will need to remove the exhaust heatshield

Novice here.

Place the car on jack stands, logs or concrete blocks before reaching under the car. You have only one life.

And if you don't go from Corona it's a shame to go from a light weight old car😂. Jk

Also leave the jack under there as a measure of extra safety
