Indicator Problems

Featured Replies

Good afternoon

The indicators are playing up on my octavia. Are relays temperamental. If so are they easy to source and replace?

Any help greatly appreciated

It will almost certainly be the relay that is attached to the hazard switch.

I had exactly the same, fine one day then crazy just like that.

IIRC it's about £35 from a dealer and easy to change, however mine was done under the 3 years cover. I believe if you take it out and clean the contacts then it can improve things, however when mine was replaced i got a different type to the original one as it makes a very different latching noise.

If you speak nicely to them since it's a 2 minute job they may just charge you for the part and not fitting :)

I would guess that this may be a uprated/corrected part.

Oh and welcome to Briskoda.

Thanks

Glad to be here

Hi

It is IIRC for cars with towing facility.

So it is stronger.

Not that difficult to do if they wont do it for you

Sarah

Cool, explains the 'nasty less mechanical more electronic', latching noise.

As sarah says easy to DIY :)
