Petrol range from 2016 & 2020:

Kodiaq RS technical details said 2300kg @ 12% for the 5 seaters (1575kg @ 12% for the 7 seater if equipped with sunroof!) around mid-2019, as I asked Skoda NZ about official towing weights as they listed 2000kg for both 5 and 7 seaters when I was ordering. Annoyingly I don't have a screenshot of it.

 

Otherwise for standard Kodiaq, Practical Caravan’s figures are mostly correct apart from 7 seater tongue load capactity which is all 100kg now according to Skoda technical details. I also don't know why Skoda UK say the max braked capacity of the SE 150PS DSG 4x4 is 2300kg when technical details show 2500kg - is this due to local rules?

Best to check with official sources than the press. 

The Press / Media & Leasing companies and even Main Dealership employees get their figures from Skoda CZ or which ever Skoda Importers in a country.

 

As it is getting your info from Skoda UK Customer Services is no guarantee of accuracy. 

 

If people are asking about Unladen weighs / Max Gross, towing braked or un-braked trailers then after checking the plate on the Vehicle, the V5 and anywhere else 

it is handy if asking on Social Media if they say what exact Spec they have, when built / first registered and in what country they are or the ca was imported to.

 

Time passes, cars get sold on, new owners get them and salespeople often have no idea about things and towbars / balls get fitted.

There will be people around with Kodiaq's and Karoq's that just assume they can fit towbars / balls and tow with them.

That also applies to people with a driving licence that think they can tow braked trailers / caravans etc.

Yep, lots of confusion with regional variances.

I'm looking for advice please on this topic, we have a Kodiaq 1.5 TSI SEL 7 seater and we are thinking of buying the Bailey Phoenix 642, MTPLM 1388, the caravan dealer told us that we were within our limit for towing and looking on, 'match my towcar' we seem to have a fairly good match, and providing we load the caravan properly and put most of the heavy items in the car we should be OK, there are only 2 of us so we don't have lots of gear.  My only concern when looking at the result from the car/caravan match is the engine power, we have towed in the past but last time we had a Kuga 2 litre diesel, I expect it to be less powerful but hoping that its not detrimental to the engine, any advice or thoughts please. 

Also did I see on another thread that there are issues with towbar fitting as this is something that we will require. 

We got our Kodiaq at the start of the year its the 190 DSG same as yours and it pulls out Swift twin eb really well, we had a Tiguan 150 DSG before which was good but the extra power is noticeable on hills etc.

As in its the same 2.0 190 TDi DSG 7 seat 4x4 Kodiaq albeit a different model but essentially the same........

Ours is the 1.5TSI SEL DSG, 7 seater, although our caravan will be lighter than yours, ours is 1388 MTPLM
