Karoq sets too low

Featured Replies

Has any one had a problem with the electric seat adjustment , when I put the seat way back for my long legs it lowers the seat so low I cant see over the steering wheel   any ideas welcome,  apart from cutting my legs off 🤣

Simply raising the seat height seems so obvious I guess you're not able to do that. Question is why not?

Unfortunately when I raise the seat it pulls it forward tucking my legs hard up under the steering wheel

Did you not have a ‘test-drive’ before purchase?

Are you therefore saying you have the seat as far back as it will go? If so then I'm thinking the same as Berisford. How tall are you? If you don't wish to use some bolster cushion then it's a change of car.

Of course the other thought is there may be something obstructing the seat from going back as far as possible?

No , could only buy on line

It goes back plenty, but as it goes back it lowers,  far to low

Not a problem mentioned before. Do you have relatively long legs and short torso for your height?

  • Author

Not at all

My friend has similar problems but while he does have relatively long legs the real issue is poor seated posture.

A factor to consider maybe?

How tall are you and have you experienced the issue in previous cars?

5.11 not that tall, and not had this problem before, manual  seats are perfectly ok for me

I haven’t got electric seats, but surely you must be doing something wrong as there are separate controls for forward/ rear  movement, seat height and seat inclination.

I was thinking you were something like 6'5"  but u say u are under 6ft, the seats go back plenty but cannot be raised?  Either there is something far wrong with the seat adjustment on you particular car or you're not operating it correctly. I have electric seats, the only difference from manual is you are able to adjust them MORE not less.

You're not by any chance pulling the front of the switch ( i.e. changing the seat angle - you'll feel the under thigh support increase ) rather than using the back of the switch to actually raise your arse?

Failing Kenny R's excellent guidance (RTFM), might I suggest a cushion ?  😂

Can I also kindly suggest - its perhaps not a good idea to have your postcode as your location - something generic like S. Leics would be safer?

Just had a play with our electric drivers seat and yes, if you take it furthest back on the lowest setting and then try to raise the squab the whole shooting match moves forward - that said, I'm 6ft and I don't have to seat anywhere near the furthest back setting..........not sure what the answer would be for the OP.

Thanks for that have changed it now

Can you not move your seat to a comfortable position for height / leg position and then adjust the steering wheel so your legs are not rammed against it?

So now your electrically operated seat can now be raised in the fully back position where before the fix, the same attempted action would move the seat forward?

Pity you cannot report back more information about how it was fixed, maybe switch replacment? How long did they have the car to fix it?

It suggests that @Berisford  may have a similar problem that needs to be addressed by his dealer

RAY34  -  you only ever mentioned not being able to raise the seat in the furthest back position. What about other positions - were you ever able to raise the seat?

If this is anything like your door problem, is the problem you described above accurate?  ( you said rear doors were locked when in fact it was all three passenger doors that were locked ). The reason I ask is I still can't understand why at only 5'11 you needed to have the seat in the furthest back position?

I'm 5'10, I also have a Karoq with electric seats and if I move them to the furtherst position, my foot is 4 inches off the accelerator pedal. If I point my toes as far faorward as I can, only the ball of my foot and toes touch the accelerator making it impossible to drive.  Just wondering then after the WD40 fix, do your seats now go further back as well as up?

I'm thinking that all car seats move forward as the squab is raised - had a look at our Golf this a.m., cranking the lever on either fronts result in the seat moving forward as it gets higher.......................
