Kodiaq vRS exhaust note

don't know much about exhausts, but what's the most straightforward way of adding some dramatics to a diesel's exhaust note ?

The starting point, is to swap the engine out for a petrol one and go from there. Really hard to get some decent sound from a diesel.

I had a Fabia vRS (1.9 TDI) back in 2005 and fitted a Blueflame turbo back exhaust with sports cat. Once remapped, it sounded alright on boost! But still a clattery horrible diesel when pottering around.

Agree with the previous comment, you'll struggle to get dramatics from a 4cyl diesel.

Can't question the performance! But it still doesn't sound great. And only revs to 5500rpm 🤭

^^^ Nail on the head.

What is needed is a Renault Clio 1.6 Turbo RS.   Then you can have an incar sound to suit. Maybe a V8 or Harley Davidson or such.

nah, diesel's the way to go for heavies in Nz, as tax is largely based on distance travelled, rather than fuel used (which means lead feet aren't penalised) . can't afford an SQ 8, so 4-cylinder clatter will have to suffice for now

Cause you couldn’t buy a used 200kW Q7 or a Touareg.
