Evaporator temp sensor (g263)

Featured Replies

Here I am, again!

Searched but nothing for my needs.

No air-condition so vcds showed g263 - evaporator temp sensor open or sorted to plus. At measure, the evaporator temp is stuck at 99° C.

The question is, is it possible to change it without removing the dashboard? Any special tools needed? It's a LHD.

It'll be a mirror image of this process:

Yes it can be done from the footwell as I managed it on out old Fabia but it was working "blind" by feel only and I ended up with scraped hands

Mission accomplished! I don't know for a RHD but for my LHD it was piece of cake. The hardest thing I had to do was to take out the locking control module's base. After that, everything was very easy. Thanks again!!!

Forgot to mention: for anyone who wants to repair it, it needs a 2700 Ohms @25°C NTC thermistor. I didn't, cause I was in a hurry. But I kept the old and I will repair it. Who knows, the new one may be broken in another twenty-year period!!!
