Felicia bonnet release fail

Featured Replies

Basically my bonnet is locked shut, the release lever in the cabin works but doesnt allow the lever in the grill to pop out. So, the cable works but has became disconnected from the actual release mechanism that is bolted just above the radiator. Bit lost for options here as I can’t reach the release through the grill, Škoda life ey?🙃

Anyone any suggestions that doesn’t involve trying to rip my grill out?

Thanks RicardoM, I’ll have to take another look in daylight hours! I had tried using some pliers before but to no avail, I will try a few different approaches from underneath. The link is appreciated!

Ended up solving this by

1.Unbolt the skid pan (rusty bolts prevented removing one side)

2. Putt car on axle stands to get under and reach up from under engine

3. Giving the release mechanism a good wack with a hammer

4. Put the lever cable back into the slot, next step is to glue it in place so it doesn’t come free again

The mighty hammer saves the day again 🙂
