Fuse 43, 600mA drain

Featured Replies

I've got the dreaded parasitic drain on fuse 43 (CCM). I can hear a relay click somewhere in the dash around the steering wheel when I plug the fuse in. Any good starting points?

That's not just the door warning lights being on 'cos you've got the door open?

Remove the fuse,

And see what doesn't work?

Thanks AG Falco

Think the door lights were another fuse, I got momentarily excited when I pulled that and the drain dropped, then realised the door lights had gone out. Nope, this is draining enough the throw a spark across when you connect the battery, even with the doors closed and locked.

Pretty much everything that comes off the CCM..... many many things.

A spark when reconnecting battery is normal on modern cars. Capacitors in control units with permanent feeds recharging.

As last post. Last time I replaced my battery I noticed a spark on re connection. So I took negative lead off and did a current check. Slightly high current ( not amps) for a lot of seconds and then a low (acceptable to me) current. I put it down to ecu self test and check, then going into sleep mode.

Yeah, nudging 600mA all the time isn't normal though

True. Double-check what happens if you disconnect the door lights, making sure interior light is off too.

Just a thought: see if something that should not work with ignition off, actually does; e.g.  the cabin fan.
