Leather door cards for Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im looking for a mint set of leather doorcards for my low mileage Fabia vRS, which has factory leather as factory option.

They must be in mint condition, I’ve missed out on a couple of sets now on Facebook pages!

I've rang seat surgeons, to chat to someone there who tells me Paul will phone me back, but doesn’t.  They want to sell me a complete set of leather for seats and door cards, as the leather is made over in China!  I was shocked at that?

I've phoned a couple of places, who quote me mega money, unless some knows someone who retrims at a reasonable price?

If your car has factory leather what's wrong with your door cards?

Not sure what difference it makes if the door cards are made in China or the hides are tanned there and the cows the hides come from are in China.

Colour matching your existing seats is basically impossible so you're being quoted for replacing the whole lot, to do this they have to use an entire cowhide irrespective of where it comes from.

They can't just grab a random offcut to make you some doorcards.

You need to be realistic, either buy a complete secondhand leather interior or get your existing interior reconditioned if you can't afford the whole job.

Nothings wrong with the interior, I want my standard VRS door cards trimmed in leather.

neither am I worried if the cow or it’s hide came from China, I was stating where seat surgeons obtain their leather.

seat surgeons no longer retrim doorcards on their own, in the past with a larger workforce, seat surgeons took an 4 doorcards and finished them in 1 days, hence keeping costs down, no longer able to be competitive.  They will retrim a whole interior to make it worth their while, so I’m told by Paul today.  So that options out the window.

can anyone recommend a reasonably priced leather trimmer having had good results please, that was the idea of this post initially.

cheers Dean
