Skoda Superb faults after 3rd party garage

Featured Replies

Took my skoda superb 2016 to a garage as the engine management light came on and after reading a post on here this possibly being caused by glow plug which was true and was repaired by my local service centre not skoda and the light disappeared, but in return they have left me with 3 faults one is an error:cornering light(AFS), a Front assist unavailable, and they managed to disable completely my cruise control. And they informed me that they are not liable because fault was there before which it wasnt and then they informed me that they do not know what may of caused it but it was there when they took it in the workshop and before they done the diagnostics, plus they would not be able to fix the mentioned faults. I will take it further, imagine the frustration it caused me being told i had the faults on when there was only one which was the engine management ligh.

Could someone tell me how much would this all pleasure cost me there abouts to fix, as well what may of caused this while they done diagnostics and changed the glow plug to build a case, and could the faults relate why the cruise control is not functioning? Any advice would be apriciated.

Are you sure its not just settings? If they disconnected the battery you may have lost them.

Digfish. Unfortunately i am not sure what they did exactly as i am not an expert, but for sure the setting i believe you refering to are not responding. I have arranged the skoda services to investigate for me. I have read other treads about the faults on hear and these faults normally accure while driving. But in my case the faults apeared when i picked my vehicle up from the garage, which they deny. So i wonder what would it cost to put it right and how would their work by doing diagnostics and changing the glow plug create all this faults and main thing disable the cruise conttol.

When you say “cruise control” do you mean ACC, in other the words the cruise control that detects cars in front and slows down automatically? If so this uses the same radar as front assist and so those two things might be one fault. Not too sure about the cornering lights though. If it has ACC and the front assist radar isn’t working, it stops the cruise control working.

It could be as simple as a glitch that needs to have the fault code reset, or perhaps they knocked the radar module (behind the middle of the front grill)

Nicknorman thank you for the information and i will keep this in mind . It is ACC system and i agree that at least one of the faults is connected to that, who knows they may all be. However as i used the 3rd party services centre their diagnostics equipment failed to pick up faults or in worst case the person using the equipment may not be qualified and does not know how to use the equipment correctly, but that will come alight in due time. Unfortunately for me due to covid i got appointment on 24 of june with skoda, so dread to think what they will say. Start missing the ACC as its a fantastic feature especially for long journeys.
