G65 Aircon Pressure Sensor - location?

Featured Replies

Folks I've got the flashing aircon panel problem, VCDS says G65 sensor fail.

Can someone tell me where to find it on a 2007 1.9tdi Scout?

Cheers

Post a picture (taken as near to vertically downwards as poss) in your engine bay, of the area just in front of the coolant expansion tank, 3-way connector coming off the sensor, off a silvery alloy pipe.

Looks like it, either a stubby spanner and slim forearms or a crowsfoot spanner.

17mm IIRC.

Confirmed, just checked a couple of spare ones.

I think you can probably move the expansion tank enough to considerably improve access without disconnecting any of its hoses, maybe just the wiring to the level sensor. N.B. I think that connector has latches both sides that need to be squeezed to unplug it. 1 or 2 screws or bolts to liberate the tank from its mounting, if memory serves.

Did this job over the weekend, it is very simple indeed and required only the correct sized spanner.

The job took an hour because access the the sensor is awful, I had to move the header tank and air intake pipe, then manipulate many smaller pipes out of the way to even reach the valve - and then I needed to get my other hand underneath it to support the pipe which may easily fracture when pressure is applied as it's unsupported.
