Rough Idling, epc light and code p0106

Featured Replies

hello very new the group after buying a skoda for the first time.

i have just bought a second hand fabia 1.4 16v 2006 - drove car without any problems until the EPC light came on (car had reached temp and had been driving for 10 miles). i then got to a roundabout and the car almost stalled but managed to correct itself. when coming out the shop it was difficult to to start and almost stalled and it idled badly. once up to 50 mph car was fine. if car has been sat over night then then car will start fine. it's had a service and new plugs. checked all hoses and throttle body looks good- did clean out the MAP sensor which made a slight difference - ideas please. do you think a new sensor will do the job.

If it were my car, the first port of call would be a thorough inspection of the brake servo vacuum hose, particularly its junctions at the end of each hard plastic section.  Feel and look for splits that might be causing an air leak.

Manual or automatic transmission?
If manual try running without the engine cover fitted on your next 10 mile+ journey.
