Auto Folding Mirrors

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been covered before.......We have a 2017 Yeti L&K bought last year which up until now I have assumed did not have automatically folding mirrors.

In my Octavia when you lock the car the mirrors fold and when you unlock they unfold, simples.

I have discovered that on the Yeti to fold the mirrors you have to press the lock button again after locking and then they only unfold again when you start the car.

Is this expected behavior on the Yeti?  Is it configurable, can I make the Yeti work like the Octavia?  Is this a setting in VCDS perhaps?

(I have tried the window reset fix suggested on another thread but it had no effect)

That is how they work from the fob, no way to make it any different.
You can always fold and unfold then on the drivers door mirror switch, about the 7 o clock position to fold them.

If you hold the lock button down for a few seconds after locking then the mirrors fold. Opening is when you start the engine.

Thanks for getting back to me, its reassuring that's its working as it should, but never occurred to me it would be different from the Octavia.  I should have RTFM of course!

No, you did the right coming here first 🙂 !

Mine works like this with the key fob;-

Press & hold, the doors lock then 2 sec's later the mirrors fold in.

If the windows are open;-

Press & hold, the doors lock then 2 sec's the windows close.

You have to press & hold again then 2 sec's later the mirrors fold.

You can't fold the mirrors with the key and keep the windows open! if you want to do this then you would have to fold the mirrors by using the knob on the inside of the car.

But if you want to lock the car, fold the mirrors in and leave the windows open (you might want so to do one day!) do what RickT says and then hold the open button until all the windows are open (the mirrors will stay folded) and then lock the car as normal. Phew!

Agreed, but there's a little query here:

A second 'locking' press too quickly (<2 secs?) should disable the interior and towing sensors, shouldn't it?  (For leaving dogs or children in the car, or windows ajar in hot weather.) I play it safe and, having closed the windows with the first press, I then press twice to unlock and re-lock.  Maybe unnecessary but how do you check the interior sensor?!

I fitted a new battery on Sunday and now my mirrors have stopped folding when I lock the car. My one stop driver window has stopped as well.

Not unusual. You just need to reset the "one touch" feature.
On the drivers door panel check which window has lost the function. Using that switch take the window, down then up. When up release the switch then rehold it up for about 10 seconds. That should reset it.
On mine it always seems to be the drivers window that is affected.

Thanks, I will give it a go.

I reckon an experiment needs to be done. sit in the car with the key and close windows and fold mirrors as above, then check the deadlocks are engaged, if the inside door handles won't open the doors the alarm sensor should by active. then move about to trigger the alarm but there is a delay on mine (about 20 sec's) so give it chance to arm itself.
