Prices creeping up? This one is up for four grand...

Featured Replies

As per the title really. I have occasionally seen nice Mk. 1 VRS's at dealers for around three thousand, but this is the first time in ages that I've seen one for four. Admittedly it does look nice, but isn't particularly low mileage or pristine. So, are prices finally on the rise? I see many being broken for spares on the Facebook page, so it may well be that the days of cheap ones are numbered.

What do you think?

No, this just someone trying it and not knowing about the market. These can be had for as little as £1200 with 95k+ miles recently. Loads on the FB groups for sale and this has been brought up. If anything they’re getting cheaper, seen some good examples for £800!

Would love it if the prices rise and these become a future classic, but I keep getting told this won’t happen, so we shall see!

Looks like a nice one but not 4 grand nice.

If it really is as nice as it looks and all the servicing including cambelt is up to date along with 4 new tyres then maybe £1800 if the wind is blowing in the right direction.

They're still a cheap car and a long way off becoming a future classic. The sad fact is, they're currently still worth more in bits. As it happens, I'm buying another one tomorrow with the intention of parting it out.

There are plenty Traders with nice cars that they are not that bothered if they sell but since they are a business they have to advertise and show as for sale and if some crazy mug is prepared to pay over the odds then they will sell to the person thinking they are getting a collectable classic.

it is an incredibly clean looking car, given its what, 18-19yrs old?

seats are looking very good.

odds of the 1 owner never being on here?

mad askin price though..

thats probably explains why the interior looks so clean...

Looks good but I bet for anybody who knows cars and the 1.8t engine there will be a to-do list a mile long. The engine alone will probably be have vacuum leaks galore and clogged breather pipes, probably have to take the sump off for piece of mind also.

Also, its showing its age a bit now, without a doubt a very uncool car, especially at 4K. Seller is an absolute chancer

Prices are going up! I'm asking £2100 for mine as I think the car is well worth the money...😬 then again I would!

I have just bought one of these today,1 owner 55 plate with 75k and full history,i got it from an elderly bloke who lives local so its not been battered, unfortunaley he caught some metal railings when parking so will need a wing and front bumper at some point, but looking at the prices they are fetching my 700 quid looks well spent

Make a project thread in the Octavia section further down the forums. 😁👍🏻

Sounds like a bargain!

I have to say that even though mine is up for sale everytime I drive it i'm thinking what the hell am I doing!

I think the octy has given me the biggest bang for buck over any other car that I've owned...
