Luck Dip time with Scala

Luck Dip Scala  SEL DSG

When I start up the Scala it really is a lucky dip.

Sometimes from start up I get a blank screen nothing works heater controls not working nothing

I have to reverse out a lot from my home, I can wait up to 5 minutes before the reversing camera

will come on same applies to the parking sensors. When the parking sensors do work, they annoyingly stay on for some time while driving

I get 2 messages saying software needs updating   then another saying it has been updated successfully only the next time I restart the car it happens all over again,

I get another message that must be turned off every time I start the car, Data transfer is currently set to "Share my position”

The satnav cannot pronounce names in English very well and the post code entry needs fixing

Apart from motorways the lane control is a bind I turn it off mostly no cure on OBD2 Carista yet

I have to turn off Stop Start every time I get in the car. I have had 4 other Skoda cars that could turn off Stop Start with Carista sorry to say no such luck on the Scala.

You cannot turn of start stop permanently now  if you don't want it on you have to turn it off

And you cannot turn lane assist off permanently as well it's all to do with ncap testing and the emissions they are all linked.

Have you tried a factory reset.

That is untill there is a problem with stop / start, lane assist or some other system and the dealership or the manufacturer has no fix available and they will readily disable them and send you out on public roads.  So remember if that ever happens we can quote the post above and demand a courtesy car. You might get one if there is a blue moon and pigs flying by.

Sounds like there is a fault there to me. Radio/reverse camera pipes up instantly on mine (same model)

Do you still get the "share my position" pop up? My Scala does this and it's really annoying!

  • 5 months later...

A year ago I bought a Skoda and soon found that a Data Protection Message kept appearing several times on a journey. I twice sent letters recorded delivery to the Managing Director UK asking “Why does the message have to appear more than once per journey?” but received no reply. Several times I telephoned Skoda UK. I exchanged more than 600 e-mails with 8 Skoda people in the UK and 11 in CZ. The car went to the dealer 5 times a total of 36 days. No one would answer the question. After 11 months I stopped seeing the message because I sold the Skoda and bought a Nissan.
