Electrically operated boot not working properly.

Featured Replies

I left my electrically operated boot open in gusting wind today and afterwards it wouldn’t shut Itself fully, leaving me to lean on it for the last 5mm final click/lock. It also only opened about 3/4. It now opens and closes correctly, only after I opened it, where it remained 3/4 open and then pushed it fully open. It then closed normally. I wonder if the struts were slightly out of alignment and by pushing it fully open, straightened them. Is this a common niggle-problem?

I've had no problems in 6 months either opening or closing unless it senses something is in the way. My drive gets very windy and I often have to hold onto the door as a gust would smash it into the wall of my house.

Open it fully and keep your finger pressed on the button until it beeps. Worth a try ...
