Hello

Caddyshack 1231 here cant seem to get access with my original Doobster account so ive had to change it to "Caddyshack" which in the circumstances ids quite true.

As the caddy 1.9 deisel truck ive bought is a right shack, ive clearly been done with a capital D.

It i think has a million and one things wrong with it but i will find out the real truth on Tuesday when it goes for the dreaded MOT,[ which it will fail].

Its a real downer as ive searched for so long to find one and when i do eventually get one its scrap really, it leaks, it got quite bad rot at the rear strut mounts, it needs brakes, a gear selector, [ it fell of on the way home with it], a tining belt and full service for sure, if not a decoke aswell, many bits of bodywork seeing to and probably a delouse and possible respay, the drivers seat sags, the drivers side headlight is broken as is the rear passenger side light unit, the pick up bed needs attention and all four tyres need replaced, it needs a spare wheels and tyre oh i and the radio falls through the dash all the time.

Anyway after sayinmg all that the reason i bought it was it has a caravanette body which is disountable from it leaving the pick up to use and the caravannette on jacks that come out of the sides of it also it has a truckman to put on when the caravanettes not on it, ive always wanted a dismontable unit which also leaks and needs work, oh the joys.

Anyway as it needs so much work i reckon a total rebuilds in order so what i need to know is the following.

What from other makes models etc is a direct fit /replacement from the following parts as i dont seem to be able to source any skoda braekers locally.

I need to renew or replce fix the following parts for it.

The front seats.

The shocks[ remembering of course they carry quite a lot of weight when the caravanettes on].

The brakes eg calipers etc.

The bottom part of dash that holds the radio

The carpet

Wheels

Door cards

headlights rear lights anyone do replacements as in lexus type or similar

Think thats all for now folks will keep you posted of upgrades as we go along.

Cheers for now.

I will post photies as soon as any are available

Hello mate  where abouts lochlomondside are you? Balloch?

 hi. and welcome.

Luss?

Hi and welcome, I think there is a breakers in Renfrew that does Skoda/VW parts not sure of name though.

Welcome to BRISKODA

Hi im from the other side of the loch "the toff end" @ Drymen, why do you live close by ?.

Thanks for your input guys much appirciated im sure, im currently checking out the braekers in Renfrew some where i go quite often as it happens, so would be quite good if it exists so far cant find one but i will keep trying.

Im looking also for a really cheap 5 door or estate as a donor car as far up the range as is possible so as to have the fogs and alloys on it and also a good interior hopefully.

Also on the look out for a set of 5 suitable alloys to go on it and the illisuve leather interior if one is available along with the door cards etc etc, or a part complete project pick up again as a donor car.

Can anyone else tell me if any other model in the ranges interior and wheels would go straight on, obviously body parts would be no good but they arent all that dear anyway so that part doesnt really bother me to much anyway.

All posts gladfully received

Niallyp is also from Drymen, and i drive by on my way to work each day, will be passing you in about an hour :D

Fingers crossed for your MOT and parts search

I've a doner car you can tow away if you wish, been lying for a while, good shocks and a brand new clutch, interior is now mouldy.

It's a 1.3 mpi Felicia.

I've a donner car you can tow away .

Is that like a donner kebab?? :P ;)

Welcome to Briskoda 'caddyshack123'

I'll keep an eye out for you as i regularly travel up to gartmore at the other side of the hill from ya.

Glider you should bring your 'Donner Car' along and feed the troops on the 14th :orb_flipp !!!

Good crack guys scary how many of you live close by even in my wee village.

The guy from Drymen naillyp you should know me pretty well however im the nutter who drives the green volvo v40 with the "www.trossachs-transfers.com" , loggo on the front and back of it as wee do the bags on the walk leaving Drymen, my other claim to fame here was the constant parking of my red 106 at "the square plastered in Trossachs Transfers", the local fuddy duddies didnt like that one but as we collect from the square as our starting point and they wouldnt let me put a bill board out even on a temp basis i parked a car there with the info in 4 inch white letters as it was motd and taxed they couldnt do a thing.

Lastlt if you do know me theres a good chance you will know my son "wee chris" from the winnock .

Anyway enough about me, my trucks going for its mot tonight i will get the bad news tommorow and i know its going to be bad alright ive assessed it myself and found around a grands worth of work needing done and im not an moter so god knows what they will find, thats apart from the window leaking the rust in the rear strut tops and bonnet and wings quite badly rusted.

Nice to know theres some like minded peeps very close by who im sure will rally round and assist should it be required at a later date as i will do if anyone needs my assistance, im not much good as a mechanic but i will do my utmost to help when and where i can as a spanner money or just for moral support if so be it.

The kind chap offering me to tow away his felicia i might just be in touch rael soon as i require a bonnet now and a whole load of other bits could do with being swapped around, however no offense matey but if im to add another motor to my excessively full driveway,[which is beginning to wind the neighbours up as is] i would rather it was a 1.9 deisel that i could get all the bits off of one car from then put all the naf bits back on it and scrap the damn lot in one go, but your offer is appriciated thanks for that i am currently running ads in Scottish Supermart and some others looking for a suitable donor car .

All the best for now

Guys incase your intrested in how my build is going on a daily/weekly basis i am currently working on a wee website/blog of my own to detail progress it can be found @ http://www.freewebs.com/vwcaddybuild, where i am a bit more able to express my opinion during the ups and downs of this build.

I will also be posting regular pics as we go along, giving out shout to all those who have helpedme along the way, with the possibility of naming and shaming those who do not.

Adim on this forum please do not take this post the wrong way im not attempting to undermine your graet forum which has been so far very helpful to me, i am not attemtping to poach your users, i merely want to be able to post as this goes along asking pertinent questions etc without clogging up your wonderful forum as i do so, i will still post regularily on this forum also to let you know whats going down], grovelling and appoligies over and done with now all are most welcome as i embark on this journey where it will end i know not as yet but one thing is for sure you guys will know doubt be of more help and assistance than any mechanic etc ever could be as you have been there and done it so to speak the best advice a man could ever hope to gain

See you all soon as i hope to appear at Falkirk if i can spare the time to come along.
