Skoda octavia vrs mk2 fl

Featured Replies

Hi all im new here. I have a strange problem with my octavia radiator fans. They don't come on when the car is hot I've taken them out of the car and powered them up with 12v. They worked but my mum has the 1.8 same year and iv I unplug the temp sensor her fans come on, but if I do the same on my car they don't come on they used to if I tested them like that. I have plugged the car into vcds and tested them through that and they worked fine. But just not when the car is hot I have also replaced the temp sensor.

Hi, welcome to Briskoda,

You would probably get more coverage if you get a mod to move this to the mk2 section, as this is the mk1.

Having said that, when you say you renewed the temp sensor, do you mean the thermal switch in the radiator hose outlet, or the gauge temp sensor on the engine?.

The one on the hose. I can't find the one on the engine.

Have you checked fuses?

Yes they are all fine. I can test the fans with vcds and they start up fine.

Apologies, I didn't read your first post carefully enough.   Does the car have A/C? If so, do the fans kick in soon after demanding cold air from that?
