Did you remove the side protection strip?

yes thats why its called `destripped vrs` in the title, my ex has my old black vrs and it needs the chrome i think to take away from the total black and boringness of the car, thats only my opinion i know a lot of folk love the black, the only black i love is my girlfriend :)

i have a couple of them vrs stickers in the post too from ebay, the ones you have on the front door, £5 for two, might put them just in front of the rear wheels, dont know yet

Yeah, they look good with the rubbing strips removed. Did mine a few months back & it looks soooooooo much neater.

I thinking of colour coding my door handles & de-locking the drivers one.

Does that mean you have to get in through the window Dukes of Hazzard style?

I do that now!:D

very nice chrome mirrors next?

Everyone's copying me now. :D Did I copy someone else? Hmmm - can't remember. Was a year ago or so now. :)

Its a great smoothing / styling mod - you just have to be aware of the car-park risks you now face. :) Mine's survived 12 months intact and scratch free.

nah not really keen on the chrome mirrors, might do something with footwell lighting for fun, part from that dont wanna overdo it

I like the rubbing strips tbh, I would however love to colour code the handles/rubbing strip like this one (ignore the bling chrome wheels, even though they do look pretty neat in that shot ;))

Colour coding the rubbing strips does look nice.

I just prefer the cleaner, unbroken lines when they are removed.............and it's easy to wax! :D

where did you buy the chrome handles from ?

I like your front splitter Superdan:cool: What car is it from and is it a easy DIY mod? I agree with you on the chrome handles, they look really  !!!

DOH!!!!!:o :O :o Just found the 'How To Guide'!!!!!:o

I think with the rubbing strips removed it looks like a 'classic' spec (just my opinion of course)

Here:

They are from Milotec. You need the ones with only one key lock (drivers side) They stick on with the tape included. About

True, but I think the classic spec looks a lot cleaner lined than the vRS :D

i brought mine off ebay for only ten squid so i think it was a bargain, they were advertised for a vw golf but they fit exactly the same, the seat splitter i brought from another briskodian and was easy to fit i guess, i didnt have any ramps so i just used my jack and did it side by side, still need to get round to finishing the middle as the 10mm self tapping screws were not quite long enough, probably just the way i did it but from a distance the middle looks like it is sagging

i brought[/b'] mine off ebay

I wish people would not do this!

brought= past tense of bring.

bought= past tense of buy.

Thank you! :D

Rub strips off is much cleaner IMO

Looks great!!! :)

Are there any previous "posts" about:

- How To Remove The "Rub Strips"? :)

My mother now also drives a Fabia (V)RS, a yellow one....removing the "rub strips" would make it look so much more cleaner!!!

Anyone, that can share me some information of what I need and how it should be done? ;)

Thanks! :D

I did one a while back - Can't find it now, but pics are in

http://altarmoore.com/jason/Door%20Strips/

Just goes along the lines of lever them off with a cloth covered screwdriver, then once you can grab it, gently lever it off. The glue is tough but lets go eventually. Then clean up with some elbow grease. ;) (£9.99 from Halfords :D)

Thanks a lot!!! :D

As I understand it...the "rub strips" should only be "pulled" right off the car? With a small amount of force? :)

Was it hard to remove the glue afterwards?

I haven't seen any Fabia (V)RS here i Sweden, without the "rub strips" on them...
