Brisky and google

Featured Replies

we all know that briskoda pops up regularly and very high up whenever 'skoda'+ 'something else' is put into google. what has been lacking though is the obvious ie. 'skoda forum'.

previously we were nowhere to be seen but now we're on page 4 of google. not bad.

Funnily enough, if my memory is correct, a Google on "Skoda Forum" (or something very similar) was exactly how i found Briskoda ;)

Dont the google algorithms factor in how many people access the link to the site through google?

If we all did 5 searches a day and clicked the link wouldnt briskoda get higher up the pecking order?

IT type to comment please.

Google ranks pages by the number of other pages which link to that page.

It also ranks by the number of pages which link to the page which links to that page and so on.

One way the spammers use to increase their score is to use "link farms" which have links to and from the spammer's pages.

Google is fiddling with the system at the moment since link farms and bloggers have kinda broken it.

IIRC, I typed in "jabbasport" into google, and a briskoda thread link was on the first page.
