Screenwash pump leak

Featured Replies

About a week ago I accidentally pulled the screenwash pump slightly out of the reservoir whilst trying to remove it's electrical connector. I pushed it back in and thought no more of it.

I noticed yesterday that it now seems to be leaking screenwash slightly from the reservoir (small damp patch on ground dripping from right hand corner of front bumper)... Is it common for the pump to leak after it's been disturbed? If so, how do I fix it? Does it need a new sealing washer/grommet thing?

Thanks,

Alan

The parts diagram shows a seal where the pump pushes in. Perhaps that has been disturbed?

More than likely that one of the pipes has half come off whilst you been moving it about.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I took the reservoir out yeserday evening to get a better view of it, & it was definitely leaking, but not fast enough to tell exactly where it was coming from.... The hoses and pump all looked to be properly seated. I took the pump and sealing ring out, checked they were clean & put them back in, and also moved the hoses a bit on the pump. I didn't take the hoses off, but they almost felt as if they were on ball joints (they rotated and changed angle easily, but didn't want to move in or out at all). Is that how they should be?

Anyway, I've just been out to check it, and it all seems dry at the moment, so hopefully something I did has sorted it. Thanks again,

Alan
