Disc and pads

Featured Replies

Probably been asked before but I looks like the brakes are coming to the end of their lives. Anyone got any suggestions for my Vrs230.

Cheers Phil

Weve got a saying in motorsport: Spend the very best you can afford.

It did my head in trying to source the correct sizes for mine last year. Eventually just let local Škoda place deal with it.

Really simple mate. AUTODOC app and order brembo coated discs and pads. If you want an up rated pad. Go for the brembo xtra option

Ive always gone with M-Tec drilled disc and Brembo pads, got combo, not a bank breaker either.  Ive run that on 4 cars now and will do so on this now as its due discs and pads all round

I did put factory pads as a replacement, as my search led to nowhere, for good road performance plus occasional TD. What I have is Jurid in front, Ferodo on back, as OEM, probably the same for you, and first set did the job properly in normal and heavy duty conditions. If you don't TD, you can put pretty much everything from good known names.

What will be the upgrade when discs are worn are Clubsport discs (5Q0615301C) in front, most likely Ferodo DS2500 (or DS Performance, which is similar to the Jurid pad, if not exactly the same, which is OEM).

Rear can actually remain OEM, to be able to get and stay warm for proper usage, but still open. I don't think strong pad and discs are needed there.

I used Forza FP3 pads and they have been great - very low dust, cold performance is fine and no amount of spirited driving will make them fade. I also used DBA slotted rotors but I believe stock or DBA blanks work just fine as well unless you are regularly tracking your car. Oh they are also lasting ages.
