Slow car after drained battery and workshop?

Featured Replies

So, sadly my 2015 Octavia vRS had to ride the tow truck home from this summers camping trip. When I parked it everything was fine but when I was about to move it later on the gears wouldnt go in. A failed clutch release bearing as expected. Annoying as its only got 64000km on the meter..

Now that its back from the workshop I've noticed the car to feel quite tame and slow on heavy throttle so I plugged my OBDeleven in and when checking 'throttle position' it rangers between 14%(fully released) and 86%(full to the floor). This seems about right with how I feel with lacking acceleration.

Now, can this get messed up when changing clutch package, or is there somethin to do with that I drained the battery at the camping site?

Can I recalibrate this myself with OBDeleven or by some throttle/ignition sequence?

Cheers

Okay, so after a little more reading up it seems that the throttle range between 14-86% might be normal figures after all.

Would be good if anyone can confirm though. 🙂

I can tell you a car I was working on a couple of weeks ago (I'm not allowed to tell you the brand unfortunately but not a VW based car) read between 8% (0.4v) at zero throttle and around 75% (4v) at full throttle.

Nothing to do with the throttle body unless it needs a calibration/reset. The sensation (which by the way is subjective and not backed up by any objective test and measurement) might be a result of a slipping clutch due to poor adjustment.

Do a 0-100 km/h test run and compare the time with factory data.

So a reading like that is supposedly normal then?

Could well be reading this :

Seems most probable to me that something that had to be removed/disconnected during the clutch repair has not been refitted 100% right. I'm far from expert on such matters, but assuming this car is turbocharged, could the problem be a boost leak?
