No, of course not.

What on earth are you thinking, your engine doesn't need new injectors or a throttle body.

It won't flow any more without the cams from the 100 bhp engine, also the ECU can't be remapped unless it's a Bosch unit, I looked into this on an AUA engined Polo back in 2001, the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

Much cheaper to just fit the entire top end from a BBZ, there are loads in the breakers.

That's some heap of heartbreak for 25bhp ! This isn't just a bolt on job. A forum post makes it look easy but if the truth is known its a different story !

If you are contesting a cc limited class in a rally or a race then fair enough!

Just swap the engine for a 2ltr out of a Golf or better still get a car with a 2ltr already fitted like sepulchrave has 👍

Really appreciate the input, you’ve saved me a lot of time/money this week lads

im only looking for bolt on performance that’s correct I have a 1.8T 02 golf looking at me I’m suspecting I’m going to get a negative reply on that engine bolting in here. Got the right spark plugs today anyway thanks for that on the other thread money well spent haha

Hadn’t been serviced in 5 years but drove 50k gears are wonderful on this 55kw, why would they make a 55kw estate? My front discs have a lip now also whole car needs an overhaul and I haven’t got that of a budget for brand new coil overs say. Kicking myself I let a set go front and back adjustable from a polo a few weeks ago for 150

The 1.8T will indeed fit but you really need the 2.0 to start with, however there's a problem, the bellhousing is so shallow that fitting a decent clutch in it is almost impossible without getting a custom unit made at vast expense, the standard clutch can barely hold the torque of the 2.0, let alone a 1.8T.

There is no bolt-on performance for that 1.4, just drive it and spend your money on petrol instead.

I use 33 psi all round for optimal handling balance, you can try 35 but wet grip is slightly reduced.

Looking for a strut brace do you know if any other cars have similar suspension dimensions

It is a combi which I believe from the book has different suspension from factory

You don't need a strut brace, they don't really do anything on street cars except get in the way at service time.
