Kodiaq 190 Tsi MPG?

Featured Replies

Has any one got experience of the Kodiaq with the 190tsi engine. Just wondered what mpg was like. Official says 30 mpg Combined which seems a bit low.

Thinking if trading up to one. Don’t want to pay £500 a year for a diesel model

thanks.

Mines poor, anywhere from 22 to 30 around town, 35/38 on a run.

Mind you it's 240bhp and I can't help pressing the loud pedal.

Other 2.0tsi owners get way more mpg than as you will see.

Can't say I bought the car for economy though, if i wanted that I'd have bought 1.0 fiesta!

36.3 mpg at the pump over 27,000 miles. I do quite a lot of motorway miles and speed does make a lot of difference, can get into the high 40’s if driven carefully, does go south if driven with a lead foot though (Andy I’m looking at you😀)!

Hi Andy, I presume you’ve had remap? Any details you can share, as I’m considering one myself.

Sorry about the thread hi jack, I get low 30’s with mixed driving , when I bother to check 😆

Are you not “supposed” to get better efficiency with a remap?! The marketing is flawed 😂

My best for my Superb 272 hatch when standard was 45.9mpg (283bhp/369nm) yet best after the remap was 49.3mpg (360bhp/514nm). Skoda claim my 7 speed DSG car which weighs 1,660kg should average 39.8mpg and after 7,300 miles in 8 months I have actually averaged 39.5mpg. Remap cost me £450 and was worth every penny. 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds and 0-100mph in 10.5 seconds is fast enough.

The mpg for my Edition 2.0 TSi (collected new, in March just before lockdown) has been far, far better than I'd anticipated. I don't drive at all in rush hour and rarely in towns, mainly on light-traffic A- and B-roads, and motorways, so you need to factor that in when I comment.

Previous car was a Golf Alltrack diesel auto, and doing the same journeys, if I achieved high-50s in the Golf, I get mid- to high-40s in the Kodiaq, so I'm extremely pleased and surprised just how fuel-efficient this engine is for the type of driving I do. But yes, big heavy car in stop-start rush hour traffic, that would be another matter.

However, in the overall cost of owning and running the car, differences in fuel consumption figures (within reason) are pretty much 'lost in the noise'.

It’s for better efficiency when you inform your insurance company.😆

I went down the box route mate, I can use it on my next car or sell it, where as a remap goes stays with the car.

I'm happy with the tuning box definitely gives the car more go!

I've also got the pedal box which eliminates the hesitation/lag when pulling off.

Hi.

If anyone has any issues with insurance at all for a re-map, chip or tuning box then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.

Where did you get your remap done?
