It depends where you live to some extent, but three weeks to get from factory to the dealer seems usual for most people.

Many thanks hopefully that will mean week after next.

My current car was built w/c 4th November 2019 and I collected it on 21st December from the dealer. Current situation may mean longer delays but hopefully you will be lucky.

True, but with lower sales figures perhaps there'll be less queuing for the car ferries?? Any recent purchasers with up to date info I wonder??

Hopefully, a general question for everybody  there are thousands of Yeti's going about but there does not so many Karoqs> I appreciate that the Yeti has been in production for a lot longer than the Karoq but I was wondering why proporationaly that was the case??

It's certainly true that I rarely see Karoqs on the road compared with Kodiaqs or Yetis, but European sales figures show it outselling the SEAT Ateca, but well below the VW T-Roc or Tiguan. (UK-only figures are harder to get hold of.) We'll have to start waving at each other when we see one - just like I used to in an air-cooled VW Beetle many years ago - to celebrate out mutual good taste :)

8 years worth of Yetis sold, Kodiaq was out in 2017 so 3 years worth, Karoq 2018 so there won’t be that many about yet.

I had a 2010 yeti and you could go weeks back then without seeing another. Now they are all over the place.

While I loved the looks of the Mk 1, it was just too small for my needs. So the Karoq is the car that's pulled me back to Skoda again :)

Yes the Karoq has a larger boot than the Yeti making taking a wheelchair easier, it appears to be more economical as well.

My order "Timeline"

  • 14/03/2020 - Ordered
  • 06/07/2020 - Dealership advised me: "Build - Week 30"
  • 13/08/2020 - Dealership advised me that the system shows "Built - In transit - Released to ship"
  • 01/09/2020 - Dealership advised me today: "Arrived UK port this last weekend (29th) - Awaiting transport to dealership"

Our dealership anticipates the vehicle will arrive with them in 7 to 10 days. So as has been said, about 4 weeks from build to dealership is pretty normal. It all works out well for us as our current "PCH" Karoq goes back on the 11th! of September - (Somebody will get a bargain. Only just less than 3000 miles on the clock!)

The early order date was in anticipation of Covid 19 problems, the possibility of long lead times for the new Scala and not wanting to be without a vehicle at completion of our contract. At the time of ordering, a PCH on a new Karoq was crazy money (expensive!) and though we would have had another Karoq in a heartbeat, the deal offered on a new Scala was blindingly good. We ordered "Big Blue" a Skoda Scala, SE-L, DSG, 1.0 litre with an extra or two. Virtually the same spec as our current Karoq which has been faultless. Fingers crossed the Scala will be as good or nearly so! The 1.0 litre engine when coupled with the DSG is a dream to drive! Easily as good and probably better than our two previous 1.2l Yetis, and that's something I thought I would never say!

Ordering early as we did, poses no problems. Admittedly, most people are looking for earlier order deliveries rather than later. However, if you project a delivery date longer than the current lead time at the time of ordering. The System juggles the build week to conform to your request and attempts to deliver on time as per the request, as it has in our case. It had the added advantage for us in that we have secured a Model Year 21 (MY21). The latest spec.

Hope this helps - Stay safe & well..................Tony

Build week 34 was w/c 17th August, so if that was achieved, 4 weeks on takes you to w/c 14th September. No confirmation from dealer or Skoda UK that it was built then, or transported to the UK??

 Hi CJJE,

Yes I know that just wondering if I should expect notification that car should be "out" for picking up??

many thanks

Norman

I had an email from Skoda UK saying my order had been accepted, and indicating that future emails would tell me when it was 'in production', 'on its way', and 'at retailer'. I'm assuming this was because my dealer recorded my email address and then passed it on to Skoda UK. If you're not getting these emails then your dealer should certainly contact you to ask you to pick it up and collect his sales bonus :)

In practice mine will need to contact me anyway to arrange to have it registered on a personal plate, and I'll then be asking for it to be set to annual servicing, and transferring money into my current account!

The car is a motobility car & we have arranged to pick the car at Arnold Clarks dealership in Edinburgh because they closed their Skoda dealership here in Inverness. Don't why because there a lot of Skoda's in and around Inverness.
