Bleeding electric rear calipers

Featured Replies

As above. Have got some 310 vented discs and calipers to upgrade the non vented 300 on the diesel sportline. (Already upgraded fronts to 340mm)

is there any secrets to bleeding the new ones once they are in. I have vcds so know about the pad change wind back function and have done a couple but is there a Maintenence mode where I can bleed them normally with a vacuum kit. If so do I have to close or change mode first then bleed or bleed with brake change mode still open

tks

There's nothing special about the hydraulic side of EPB calipers so you can bleed them as normal. Best practice is to wind the motor back then push the piston back to minimise the volume of fluid in the caliper. Do not rotate the piston to wind it back. Superbs have Conti rear calipers but the TRW instructions should be relevant:

Absolute legend thank you for that I’ll have a little read. Have done pad changes on it so no worries with how to get calipers in but just didn’t know about bleeding new calipers in.
the above guide is just the job.. Ta
