Kodiaq Sportline 190tdi DSG-mpg??

Featured Replies

I’ve been offered a Kodiaq Sportline 190tdi DSG at a very attractive discount.
Not being familiar with this engine and transmission I’m wonder what the mpg is likely to be?
Anyone got any experience of a Kodiaq with this engine and what mpg is achievable?

It's a big, heavy, flat-fronted, 7-seater SUV. Assume 30-40mpg and you're less likely to be disappointed.

We have one. MPG depends on the length of the journey, the sort of roads and speed you travel at, the temperature, and how heavy your right foot is. Going with 40mpg and adjusting it up or down a bit depending on your circumstances seems a safe bet.

As a rough guide, if you drive motorways at the legal speed limit in summer temperatures, you’ll see high 40s mpg on a decent length journey.

In winter and on shorter motorway speed trips, low 40s are more realistic.

A short stop start journey around town will see low 30s.

An open A road run can see 50mpg in ideal conditions if you really baby it and drive below the legal speed limit; or mid 20s if you pretend you’re a racing car driver rather than the driver of a 4wd bus.

I agree with Mr Trilby

Mine is the 150 BHP - 4000 miles.

Short 2 or 3 mile journeys high 20's to low 30's

Long 130 miles on motorway at 70 to 75 set on cruise - 45 to 48

Average around 40.

Would expect 190 bhp to be almost same - maybe a little lower.

This is about 3 to 5 MPG less than the Yeti when it had 20K miles

I normally drive quite sedately these days in the car.

I average 38mpg with our 190tdi DSG. That is virtually all local driving and relatively short distances. On a run with mixed cycle that lifts to 43-45. On a steady motorway run with good average speed almost 50mpg. Winter cold weather drops the mpg notably by a few mpg across the aforementioned averages. I drive gently with mechanical appreciation 95% of the time. I do not accelerate or brake hard generally.

38 true brim to brim over 3 years and 30,000 miles.

Not too many silly short trips.

Managing 35mpg on my RS brim to brim. Rather annoying that the low fuel warning is so early, as I'd rather it go off at 50km range than 100km...
