Replacing Head Unit - Australian problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

Well I have a very Australian problem. The head unit in my Skoda Superb Mk II 2015, shuts down when the cabin temperature hits the high 20s. If the aircon is use to cool the cabin, it will come back to life.

Rather than try to isolate the problem I thought I would just replace the head unit.

As my car only has the proximity sensors, not the cameras, I was wondering if I there was a way to upgrade to a newer Skoda head unit (if so which one), or do the after market head units accept proximity sensor inputs these days?

My second question is: does anyone know If there is an inexpensive way to upgrade the head unit and the proximity sensors to cameras?

What is your current headunit? Columbus?
If so, you can update to an Amundsen (MIB2) with a little bit of work as it's not quite a straight swap - tonnes of info here: Amundsen Info
Almost all units (aftermarket Android, Columbus and Amundsen) can accept camera feeds.
