Oe Skoda wheels-Why so expensive?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I just wondered if anyone knows why the wheels in the Fabia Accessory brochure are so expensive ,

Have you tried to buy OEM wheels anywhere else, I think you'll find Skoda fairly competitive compared to other manufacturers.

Wheels are very subjective in terms of cost, quality and style as are the tyres that you fit.

You will also have to factor in having your pants pulled down by your insurance company for having non standard wheels.

Try Ebay, some of the manufacturer's sites such as OZ, Team Dynamics Compomotive the list is endless.

Keep your eye on the classifieds for some second hand Fabia vRS alloys.

Duncan,

Keep an eye out here, wheels that will fit on the fabia crop up quiet a lot in the for sale section. You could consider

OEM Fabia vRS 16" wheels

OEM Octavia vRS 17" wheels (will need different profile tyres to octy.

OEM Octavia vRS 16" wheels ( -------------------"_________________)

Audi TT wheels in 17" (______________"________________)

Ive been following an ebay auction for a set of vRS Fabia wheels , but the auction ends tomorrow when I am at work , and someone else is bidding against me so i will lose them anyway...they are up at £215 just now , if anyone has access to a pc at work , the auction finishes tomorrow at 310pm. I guess its Halfords for me , I hate having wheeltrims , I dont think the insurance will bother me much , im only paying £149 FC with protected NCD , and my lancer evo was only setting me back £470 FC/PNCD , i cant see a set of alloys bumping my premium up that much!

If I had a vRS I could justify spending £7-800 on wheels , but its a 6 yr old basic mpi , probably worth £3K on a good day , £500 is as far as I want to go....

a dealer quoted me £48 for the octy vRS wheels.... each
I thought they were £198 or thereabouts each for alloys.

You'll get a set of wheels from here for less than £500 if you keep an eye out.

remember many VAG wheels fit the fabia so look within the group. Ebay is always good as well as our own forsale section and other sites such as uk-mkivs.net

I thought they were

I've been thinking (should that be dreaming?!) about 17" dymag 5 spokes as used on rally cars and having them sprayed diamond silver - someones got to do it!

Motorworld have offers on 17" wheels and tyres, they're usually £500-600. Worth a try

theres a place in ayr can't remeber their name but they have a double page spread in ad trader they are selling 4 wolfrace street octane black alloys with polished rim for 300 without tyres.

Audi TT 16's will fit as well, but you need to change the tyres if you get them as a set.

I've got a set on eblag at the moment, but if they don't sell, the tyres are going on the Octy, and the alloys are going to be sold separately. Like the man says - check the for sale section

Cheers

Ben

I might be seeling my 16" Fabia vRS alloys with OEM tyres which have come off after only 9k miles.
