Thinking of buying a vrs

Featured Replies

Hi guys I'm a new registered user to this site but been browsing it for a while now.

I was thinking of ordering a Fabia VRS in June (for it to be delivered in Sept for the new reg) in black with xenons, cruiser and leather. However just been checking out my local dealer's stock and they have this in:

nice car and i love them pics really arty i want some pics of mine taken like that... the car sounds good if its down at 12300 i take it that it is an ex demo car normally taken good car of have you driven that car to make sure it runs ok but defo sounds like a good deal in my opinion

probably a demo car as dealers usually spec the cars up when they are demos

Thing is you can get that same spec brand spnking shiny & new for 12,300-12,400 if bought online and a dealer may well match it or come within a couple of hundred quid...... Might be worth having a look into a new one.

Cheers

Dave.

A new car online works out a few hundred more for the same spec but I'm hoping the stealers will knock some off that list price of £12300. If they budge to under 12k then I'd be happy :)

if you get it even at the price they are asking you wont be dissapointed excellent car with huge tuning potential my have a few niggles but at the end of the day what car doesnt

If it's an ex demo you WILL get problems later on in life with it. People like me drive them.

If it helps, I've ordered a vrs with

Cruise, ESP, Heated seats, and metallic paint

12500 from a dealership (Should have been 13600) (DtD was 12350)

Go new, at least you know the cars history, you get 3 years warranty and AA cover, and you never know your 06 furby may not even have a stutter;)

Hi Keith nice to meet you too. That's 1 person I know on here now! I don't know if I'm going to go for it, I might order a new one specced up in June. Will have to see tomorrow.

Well I went to the dealer and they said £10k + my Clio (worth £1.5k trade).

He said he'd give me 1.4k for the Clio and discount the price by 900 which I thought was a good deal. But dad is saying it might be best just buying a new one in June and waiting those 12-13 weeks for it as the Clio is ok for now. At least that way i could opt for the leather too instead of fitting it to a used car.

Hi mate welcome to the site :)

Go for the new one, you know you wanna

I'd pay the extra couple of hundred and go new' date=' you know how some demo cars get driven, don't you? i.e. like rental cars!

There is a chance it wasn't run-in properly as potential customers will have had it foot to the floor, 'trying it out'.

Not saying this is the case, but you never can be sure.

The last courtesy car I had showed only FIVE miles on the clock - so I drove it gently...

We brought an ex-demo nearly two years ago and have no problems whatsoever:D

Damn, I missed one

Hey everyone, just a lil update to this. Put a deposit down on the car and will be picking it up next Wednesday. The car drives great, has cruise, xenons, heated seats, ESP and a cd changer as extras. I got the dealer to use VAG-COM to make the alarm beep when activated/deactivated and he said the anti-hijack feature was already standard on it. The car has done 7k miles and there's no fraying of the seat material so maybe I am one of the lucky ones? It was confirmed that the car was a demo vehicle but it doesn't bother me as it's got 2 1/2 yrs of warranty remaining (dealer verified that warranty for car would remain with a remap, apart from the engine).

Just got a few issues though, as I have my own headunit, changer, amps, components and subs I want to install. How hard is it to remove the standard cd changer? And how do I route the changer cable from the headunit in the dash to below the passenger seat? The dealer says my changer might not fit as it might be a different size. If it's too much hassle I'll probably get sq plus to fit a proper install in there. Just wandered if anyone had done anything similar?

The mods I have planned for next week are:

Autoglym ultra deep shine/sealant, PD160 air intake, Lupo cupholders, removing bump strips from doors, removing vrs badges from front and rear and silver vision indicator bulbs.

Got a Superchips remap and Miltec exhaust on the cards too. Might lower the car -35mm too but not going to bother changing the wheels. Want to go for a standard look this time lol.

Are there any other easy to do/cheap mods that are worth doing?

P.S. Symphony cd payer and changer for sale soon!

Where do you start!!!

Chrome / body coloured door handles - just done.

Body coloured grill - bank holiday plan

Check out milotec for bonus body parts.

Welcome to the party!!

Lol I forgot about the front grill. Was tempted with a Milotec one so will put that on the cards too. I don't think chrome will look right on a black car, will be a bit out fo place the whole car being black and then having four chrome handles. Although I do want to colour code them in the future. Thanks for the welcome!

Has any one fitted the chrome grill from milotec. Just ordered one for a silver car - along with the fog lamp covers and lower grill.

any pics would be good.
