Key Remote Windows

Featured Replies

Hi There,

Something that's puzzling me is the electric Windows on my  octavia. They don't work on the key remote and wondered if this not available on all octavias or can it be coded out..?

Thanks in advance

Normally it's factory pre-programmed but not sure if only elegance and L&K had this option.

What is yours?

Not too sure if it’s related to any particular model but isn’t this part of where the windows can be programmed to close if it rains? That might mean the rain sensor is a pre-requisite though.

Not particular to have rain sensor to do so.

This is for auto-close facility and should the stalk be at first position to do that.

The key fob can open and close the windows remotely when keep pressing the relevant button.

What if trying to do this using the key in the door lock?

Do the windows move when keeping key at unlock or lock position?

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I have a 2009 vrs. It doesn't have the maxi dot display. I know the VAG group let's you open and close the windows on the remote.

I've tried with the key holding each way and that doesn't work. So wondered was it only a feature related to another option I.e comfort pack.

I love the idea of the rain sensor closing the windows tho. How good would that be.....

For the VRS, i believe it should be offered...

!

Not sure why yours - if anyone can shed some light...

As far as I remember there is an option in maxidots related to windows operations and maybe it is this.

Maybe yours needs any reprogramming to enable, if available.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it's a setting or if it has been wiped with vagcom. It may just need coding in...?

Could possibly something be done via VCDS but not sure where this setting could be.

As yours not with maxidot then it needs to be plugged in.

The following is a list of changes (facelift models) you can make to the windows using the Carista App. VCDS may do more but I doubt it. Ignore references to sunroof.

In addition to opening and closing the windows using a long press on the remote or holding the door key at open or close for few seconds, you can do the same with a long press on the open/lock button in the centre of the car (useful on a hot day to dump the hot air by opening all windows simultaneously once you are in the car).

I am not clear from your posts whether your long press and key in door is working or not. If not , then this app could program it for you, assuming your 2009 car is a facelift model.

I have a facelift model with rain sensor and the windows do not close automatically when it rains.

Enable settings for opening/closing windows and sunroof     Yes / No

Open/close windows and sunroof via long-press on remote   Yes / No
Open/close windows and sunroof by turning and holding key in door lock   Yes / No
Open sunroof via long-press on remote   Yes / No
Close sunroof via long-press on remote Yes / No
Sunroof action when opening via remote   Slide / Tilt
Blink turn signals when done closing windows via remote   Yes / No
Open only driver's window via long-press on remote   Yes / No
Allow power window operation after ignition is turned off   Yes / No

I have a 2009 vrs. Fl model. No maxidot and the windows don't go up on the key fob or by inserting and turning the key in the door...

How does the carista app work as I'll give any advise a go.

you need an obdii dongle to plug into the diagnostic socket on the car.

then insrall the carista app on your phone.

the fob closing can be turned off or on. tbh im thinking of turning it off, as i sat on my key recently while doing an evening feed with our newborn and opened all my windows. it pi55ed rain all night..  seats and carpet were d

soaking the next morning.

it can be a great INconvenience option...

If windows open and do not open any door for I think 8-12 hours, the controller at any way then fully closes all windows.

I may be wrong though if this occurs only in vehicles with rain sensor  installed (as mine does so)...

Mine is an 06 old mk2

Has a rain sensor and does the VAG keyfob open an close thing.

But, it doesn't do that overnight close thing. I have those wind deflectors so leave all the windows cracked most of the time (dropped by the fob).

Carista let me set the 10mph anti-jack doorlock which was something I missed from my Superb 3. What I don't miss is the remote boot opening by the fob good for a 40ft range.

Hi There, so to clarify I can buy any one of these bluetooth obdii plugs from the bay and chuck the supplied software and just use carista...?

I've got a 59 plate L&K, it has a rain sensor.

It closes the windows when it rains (think there's a setting for it in maxidot), and opens/closes the windows via the fob.

It doesn't close the windows after 12 hours though, despite saying it should in the manual. I actually posted a thread about that when I got the car, and the general consensus was that the manual was a book of lies and nobody had the windows closing after 12 hours

there is indeed in the maxidot in the convenience menu "Rain closing" which this enables any window to fully close when wiper stalk is at first position left.

For windows closing after 12 hours, do you leave the stalk on position 1? (think it's perquisite)
